TikTok - #GoLong - Super Bowl 2019

PREMISE: TikTok is a wildly popular social media app designed to let users create endless streams of short-video content. The brand is all about creating a safe space for self-expression, exploration, and just being you.

THE INSIGHT: Millions nationwide watch the Super Bowl. But more and more people today still spend a considerable amount of time on their phones - during commercials, timeouts, even during the game. So we wanted to give them something fun to do while tuning in.

THE IDEA: Create a game within the “Big Game.” It’s called #GoLong. The game consists of two teams, Tik & Tok. How do you play? By simply creating a video showing the world how you #GoLong. To kick it off, we enlisted NFL players, including Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce and New Orleans Saints (now a Baltimore Raven) Mark Ingram. We even got renowned rap artists Migos and Lil Yachty to get in on the action.

AUGMENTED REALITY

There were some fun extras in the TikTok app too, namely AR avatars of Kelce and Ingram, allowing any surface to become an endzone. Just select the avatar, position them where you want, and watch them do their touchdown dance.
